Since the advent of the Order Picking Forklift, warehouse pickers have been wondering – after removing the front rows of cartons from a high level pallet of goods – how to get at the back rows safely.
To date, operators have leant out up to 1 Mtr (39") from their picking cage or used poles with hooks, to bring those pesky rear cartons to the front. Apart from time wasting and having to deal with and stow a pole each time, the alternative sheer madness of leaving a secure environment to grab a far away carton is just asking for trouble.
Now, thanks to an ingenious Engineer, the high level Roto-Picker is available to solve the problem. The patented Model KRP-HL is ready for world wide application.
When the load is down to 500 Kgs (1125 lbs) or less, the operator simply unlatches, pulls out, rotates the pallet, then slides it back in, where it auto locks – with virtually no effort – and the operator can resume picking in just a few seconds.
Where two KRP-HL systems are side by side on double beam rack, a simple mechanism is fitted to ensure only one pallet can be pulled out and rotated at one time.
The racking beams used for the system need to be 140mm (5.5") x 50mm (2") minimum. They also need to be bolted securely to the uprights. The uprights themselves, and the supporting structure need to be evaluated by a racking specialist. Make sure you obtain a written guarantee from them before proceeding. In the event that your system is not strong enough, it is possible to provide an autonomous surround structure to support the system.
Steel 'U' bolts are supplied to attach the system to the beams. Allow 180mm (7") for the height of the system.
